How to beat Modern Combat 5 on your Java phoneHow to beat Modern Combat 5 on your Java phone

If you’re like most people, you don’t enjoy playing phone games on your phone at all. This is probably due to the fact that they’re not as fun as console or computer games, and also because they’re usually designed with touch controls in mind, which can be very frustrating if you don’t have a touchscreen phone. But one of the most popular phone games out there has recently been ported to Java phones!

Download Airplane Mode

One of the best ways to improve your battery life when playing games is by enabling Airplane Mode (Settings > Network) or putting your device in Flight Mode. This disables all wireless radios, and a study from Stanford University found that it can increase talk time by as much as 400 percent! You might not be able to receive calls if you do so, but it’s well worth it for a few extra hours of gameplay. Plus, another bonus of using Airplane Mode is that it will disable any apps running in the background—like Facebook or Twitter—from syncing updates. So for instance, if you use Twitter’s mobile site when in Airplane mode and then launch their app afterward, you’ll see all new updates without having manually refreshed.

Save all your data

You should never delete game data. In fact, you should archive all of it—even if you plan on starting a new game. This way, if something happens to your device or account, you’ll always be able to start over and pick up where you left off. It’s an unfortunate situation that we need a strategy for but one that will no doubt come in handy at some point down the road. The good news is that all games are different so each one will require different steps when it comes time to get started again. A good general tip is don't rush into anything – there's nothing worse than losing several hours' progress because you made a mistake early on in a rebuild!

Turn off Wi-Fi and data

Turn off both Wi-Fi and data, because most games will quickly turn into a resource draining battery eater if you're not careful. The biggest battery suck in modern games is usually location services, followed by background app refresh (which checks for game and system updates). If you really need location services and background app refresh, look for specific power saving modes in your phone's settings. Otherwise, consider playing games that don't require constant location checking or an Internet connection to play. If you find yourself getting frustrated with a particular game, take a break—your sanity (not to mention your battery life) is worth it.

Navigate away from the app.

Once you're in, tap Menu and then Settings. When you see a submenu for General settings (as opposed to Security), tap it. On most phones, there should be an option for Home or Home page. Make sure it's set to Home screen instead of Apps, which will take you right back into MC5 (and make sure you exit first). Also under Settings, look for a submenu called Startup and make sure that Home screen is selected as one of your shortcuts when it launches.

Force close the app.

We have tested them thoroughly with our game guides and found them to work perfectly. If any of these do not work, please let us know through our contact form and we will update our step-by-step instructions as quickly as possible! Keep in mind that Java games are very resource intensive, meaning they drain battery life quickly. Please be sure to allow enough time for long gaming sessions between charges.

Go back into the app.

If you find yourself stuck at a certain level, don’t give up! Go back into previous levels and familiarize yourself with different enemies. Keep in mind that some enemies become more common as you progress through later levels. Knowing how to deal with these villains beforehand will prove invaluable when it comes time for them to attack you for real.
