The 5 Best Gangster Games You Can Play on Your iPhone

The gangster game genre has been around for quite some time now, but only recently have games about gangs and organized crime become popular among video game players. The following list of games are what we consider to be the best gangster games you can play on your iPhone at this very moment. Each of these offers several hours of enjoyable gameplay and we think they’re worth your time and money even if you’re not really into the whole gangster theme that much.

1) Chinatown Wars

Chinatown Wars is a really fun game that captures the essence of being a gangster in the 1920s and 1930s. You can do everything from robbing banks, to beating up guys with brass knuckles, or even pickpocketing people for their cash. There are all sorts of missions you can complete, and each one has its own objectives that need to be met to move forward. The controls for this game are super simple too, so you'll be able to get into the action pretty quickly. Plus, it's free so there's no harm in giving it a shot!

2) Mafia 3

Mafia 3 is an action-adventure video game set in 1968 New Orleans. It was developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. The game is the third entry in the Mafia series, following Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven (2002) and Mafia II (2010). Mafia 3 tells the story of Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam War veteran who starts out as an orphaned criminal trying to find his place in post-war America. His quest for power takes him from New Orleans to Louisiana's swamps, whilst seeking revenge for those who betrayed him and killed his surrogate family. Lincoln is also pursued by local crime lord Cassandra, who blames her family's murders on Lincoln.

3) Scarface: The World Is Yours

Another decade-spanning console game to include in the best gangster games is Scarface: The World Is Yours. Released for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube in 2006 by L.A. Noire studio Team Soho, this game turns you into Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee who becomes a crime lord as well as movie star with ambitions of heading back home to take over Cuba and destroy Fidel Castro's regime. Along the way, he must balance his family life while also striving to make connections with powerful people in both the public and criminal worlds - not an easy task considering that he is considered an outsider to those circles.

4) Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V is the fifth installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, and is available for play on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360. The game was originally released for these four platforms in 2013.

Grand Theft Auto V has an open world environment with a dynamic day-night cycle that affects many aspects of gameplay. The player assumes the role of three characters: Michael De Santa (a retired bank robber), Trevor Philips (an out-of-work criminal) and Franklin Clinton (a gang member who lives in a hood). These three are trying to earn money by various means while under pressure from various forces in their lives.

5) C.O.P. the Recruit

C.O.P. the Recruit is a game that features crime, violence, and guns in a city environment. Players take control of a police officer who must work his way up from being an academy recruit to becoming the Chief of Police by taking down different gangs and earning the respect from other officers. The game also has a multiplayer mode where players can create their own gang and take part in turf wars against other players' gangs for control over the city blocks.

C.O.P. the Recruit features surprisingly detailed graphics with lots of colors that are pleasing to look at, especially on an iPhone screen or iPod touch screen where games tend to look washed out and not as vibrant as they do when played on an iPad screen or desktop computer monitor.
